So before I get into the new blog post I want to say there are a few changes going forward one of which will be my new blog site I no longer have a personal domain linked to blogger and while I tried to get a personal domain to link to the original blog on that site try what I might it did not like anything I did! I also could not get a new domain from the place that I got the blogger domain from as they no longer do domains so ya. Here we are a new website with hopefully a new personal domain name soon. So please be kind and remember this is a totally new blog platform for me and there is going to be a learning curve.
With the above said it’s been awhile if you read my previous blog post on blogger I said that I would post some time in mid May however that did not happen things got out of control and I had a a bit of a stress induced break down..Ya not pleasant In the slightest! Now before I go too far into the blog post the picture above is from our very own crabapple tree in fact we have 2 of them on the property!
Now on to the main blog post yes? Well the move went poorly to say the least and not because of injury, illness etc but mostly down to poor planning and packing on my parents part. They do have a lot of stuff including thousands of salt and pepper shaker sets no I am not joking, maybe in the coming months I will add a picture or two of sets that are looking to be sold. Anyway the first trip had it’s own stresses what with three adults and two kids along with three dogs and a cat, my father having the normal van had both kids and all three dogs while my husband and I as well as our cat got the moving truck. We left Hemet,CA on Monday night *if I remember right* and got to our new home between Rawlins, WY & Laramie, WY at around 8pm the next day. By Friday everything was unloaded from the truck and my husband and father went back down *either that night or Saturday night can’t remember it was a stressful time* to get the rest of the stuff along with my mother her two cats and her lap dog. The second trip took way longer to get everything packed and get them back up here and it was at about that point I had a stressed induced breakdown, as my husband was only here for roughly three weeks and no we really did not do even 1/8th of the stuff we wanted to do while he was here.
But now my husband is back in the UK where he will finish re-homing our chickens and rabbits as well as finish remodeling our house, mostly just touch ups and then hopefully we can put our UK home up for sale. As for the rest of us well we are now pretty much fully moved into our new home, some things were left behind at family/friends as it would not fit into the truck & plans have been made to pick it up in Aug as both parents will be traveling back down for a birthday party. The dogs are getting along well and are as thick as thieves, well until meal times as they all are very protective of food so I have no problem feeding them in different spaces. Banshee is pretty happy, my mothers two cats *biological brothers* don’t really mess with her nor her with them so they exist quite happily!
My parents have yet to fully go through all their belongings to see what they really want and so their part of the house is still pretty full of boxes. Whereas I am pretty lucky I had to buy new things for the house and so did not have as much stuff to box or haul. Now once we moved in we found that the flooring in my section was not original linoleum, in fact the flooring is actually tiles and some are cracked, some broken and a good few are no longer attached and can be easily pulled up in one piece. I do plan on getting some vinyl flooring to put over the top of the tile and fill in where the broken tiles are. Also I can’t remember if I said or not on my old blogger post but turns out our house is not 4 bedrooms our house is 3 beds and 2 baths, one of the original bedrooms *the larger of the two basement bedrooms of all things* was turned into a laundry room which is also where the dogs stay until my section I feel is puppy proof. My section has a nice large living room which also doubles as my bedroom/office, we have a lovely little kitchen that is big enough for a round table that seats four people, it also has a nice large pantry that I am on a mission to stock before the coming winter and then some. My kids have the only room and it also has a nice large walk in closet for the size of the house that is, I store all of our clothes there along with the kids book case. The only thing I have issue with is our blasted bathtub with shower over, every time you turn the faucet on not only does it come out the faucet it comes out the shower head as well and for the life of me I can’t figure out how to fix it! But the water does get nice and hot and stays hot for a good long while, not to mention the tap water is actually drinkable unlike the tap water from Hemet.
My next blog post will be about a few shopping hauls and prices/offers that I have found which I have found some good offers on food! until the next post thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!
