I decided to buy an indoor slide for my son so at least he has something to do inside when it’s too windy or too cold to go out, that and he keeps putting his mattress on anything trying to make it a slide. Not to mention a small indoor slide was cheaper than an outdoor slide. I also decided to go ahead and buy a cheap incubator, however I do plan on a low/no spend month starting April 1st and possibly even doing May as well.
I have also been doing some early spring cleaning as well, and I finally have the use of my desk again which is nice. I have found a few items I have been looking for, and a few items I did not know I even had. I do plan on decluttering soon as I feel we have way too much stuff that we don’t use often enough to keep. Not to mention I need to repair a few items of clothing, along with a couple of vcr’s I found and we do have some old vhs tapes, so I would really like to watch some of these. I also need to find a couple of dressers, so I’ll be on the look out for those as those are very much needed. I also know I need to donate some clothes as we either do not wear them or they have been out grown in the case of the kids.
Now if we go back to the start of this blog I stated I bought an incubator. Well it’s definitely cheaper than my German made Heka incubator that I left back in the UK, but it does keep temperature pretty stable, even right out of the box. It’s a Farm Innovators brand pro series digital circulated air incubator with automatic egg turner: model 4250. Now I am trying to hatch a few goose eggs, this will be my first time trying to hatch goslings. I have gotten a few chicken eggs as well from a mix flock and I am seeing if those are fertile, which I hope they are as some of them are easter eggers and naked necks. Sadly so far I have had 4 early quitters in my goose eggs, they apparently are not easy to incubate. I am of course keeping a log of the whole incubation process and I do plan on selling any goslings and chicks that hatch as I can’t keep them all.
Now in my previous post I talked about going back to school and signing up at my local community college for the hiset course. Well I have passed my opt’s (official practice tests) and I did retest to see if I made a measurable gain, which one of my teachers recommended I do. I thankfully did have a measurable skill gain and I did qualify for financial help at that point, because of the help I only need to pay $30 for my hiset testing. Now you can take the whole test in one day or you can take one subject a day or a week, there are 5 subjects and I have decided to take my first two subjects on the 24th and following that date I will take 1 test a week. I am hoping I pass the first time around as I am sure that once I do it will be easier to get a job and/or continue my education.
Well that is it for this blog post, hopefully I will have more to talk about in my next post. Until thank you for reading and I hope you have a great weekend, week, and month.
