Well, our town gave us a heart attack! Someone tested the warning system (classic tornado alarm) without telling anyone. Needless to say, I was rushing outside to put our chickens in their run, grab my son (who was not happy to be going in) down into the basement, and tell my parents upstairs what was going on. Spent an hour in the basement with windows shut to be on the safe side until danger passed, only to then be told oh no, someone was testing it. A couple of people agreed they should have notified everyone in the town that they were doing it, so no one would panic or get worried. I think I’ll go to the next town meeting to see what everyone says about this. It should be a fun conversation all around. Does anyone else’s town do this shit? like surprise! We know you had a heart attack, but good news, the system still works! Oh, and just a note, in the 2 and a half years I have lived here, they have not once tested it, nor had bad enough weather to set it off. So yea warnings are a good thing specially if you have not used the system in YEARS!
