My Simple Wyoming Life

Well, I got my college housing sorted out, and I have my preferred dorm or hall as the college calls them! I have pretty much everything ready to go, and I am super excited to have the opportunity to go and be part of the equine management program at my chosen college. I feel really blessed that the good lord above has guided me to this point in my life! I have almost everything I need to start off on a good note at college, oh, and I was accepted into a first-generation college program, if you will, and I am so thrilled to have been accepted into it! I also found out through that acceptance email and form that I needed to sign and agree to as part of everything, that the college library will let registered students borrow a laptop for free for the whole semester! Which is a big help after my laptop went up in flames, so to speak.

So my traditional student logic of notebook paper, pencils, pencil sharpeners, etc., to use to take notes is going to come in handy, although I will admit I am looking into a tablet that might help with notes and other things on the go, so I do not have to always carry around a college-loaned laptop if I manage to get one. But right now it’s going to be the good old-fashioned way of note-taking! I need to find more of my favourite socks which are mukluk brand boot socks they great! Hopefully, this coming winter won’t be too bad cold-wise, as I don’t have loads of good cold-weather gear. I think I might go ahead and buy a cheapish pan set so I can at least make pancakes when the mood hits me for some.

I am just so darn stoked about going to college, hanging with the college horses, as well as learning to ride. I will admit I have been looking into adopting a horse as well, granted that is a bit of a way off, but there are so many beautiful horses looking for adoption, and the good lord knows if I could, I would adopt one or four lol. 

My days have been filled with college preparation, time with the kids, gardening, and hatching ducklings for my neighbour. Not to mention trying to cook and bake without making the house too hot for everyone. So sandwiches and salads for all! Seriously though, it’s hot, and I would love it if we got some decent rain, good lord knows we need it! The rivers that I pass when I go to Rawlins or Laramie are awfully low. I can only imagine how this is impacting the fish and the fishermen. Not just them, but ranchers too, who rely on the rivers or creeks that run through their land to water their herds.
